Danny,

Greetings, I hope this finds you well. I met with Barbara Walters, General Manager and Adam Salter, Sales Manager of the Island House Hotel here in Orange Beach yesterday to discuss details and get an update on reservations for the upcomming 14th District Caucus in July. They were very excited and looking forward to hosting our members once again.

As of yesterday they had 59 of the 61 initial rooms reserved with many members arriving early and staying late. This was very encouraging as there were not this many total rooms reserved in 2008. There are still plenty of rooms available if needed.

The hospitality suite is being prepped and will once again overflow with that wonderful Gulf Coast Southern Hospitality. A poolside party is planned for Monday night at the Island House Hotel and social gathering at O'Chopper's "Almost Irish" Pub in Orange Beach is planned for Tuesday night. A great golf outing is planned at The Golf Club at The Wharf in Gulf Shores on Wednesday after our last business session.

The retailers in Orange Beach, Gulf Shores and the outlet centers in both Foley and Daphne are in full swing ready to help our members find that special something they just can't live without.

The beaches are being patrolled daily by 100's of workers, business owners, local residents and volunteers to ensure our area continues to be the white, sugar sand gem of the Gulf Coast and minimalize the effects of the BP Deepwater Horizon Spill here on Pleasure Island.

While the BP Deepwater Horizon Spill is in the front of every ones mind, please take what you hear and see in the media with an open mind. The beaches are open, the air is clean, the restaraunts are cooking up some of the finest food one can get anywhere and the Professional Fire Fighters of Alabama and the Gulf Coast IAFF Locals of the Fighting 14th District are rolling out the red carpet for all to enjoy.

Come on down and support your Brothers and Sisters on Alabama's Gulf Coast.

On behalf of the PFFA and the Alabama Gulf Coast IAFF Locals, we look forward to seeing you and all of our IAFF Fighting 14th members in July.

Fraternally,

Sam
