Fire Fighter Cancer Awareness Month

Brothers and sisters, January is Fire Fighter Cancer Awareness Month. Tragically, IAFF members are constantly exposed to carcinogens on the job that make us far more likely to get sick or die from cancer than the average person.
2024 TPFFA Legislatve Conference

The 2024 TPFFA Frank D. Stephens Legislative Conference will be held February 26-28, 2024, at the Hilton Downtown in Nashville.  In accordance with TPFFA Policy, the TPFFA shall provide one room for each TPFFA Local for the first and second night of the annual Frank D Stephens Legislative Conference.

PTSD Presumption Passes TN Legislature

(2023-04-23 NASHVILLE) We are pleased to report that The “James ‘Dustin’ Samples Act,” our PTSD presumption legislation, passed the Tennessee Senate and Tennessee House of Representatives unanimously this week. TPFFA leaders across the state have been working on this priority legislation for many years.

Ambulances left waiting hours to drop off patients at Memphis hospitals, firefighters’ union says

(2020-12-29) From WREG: Some ambulances have been forced to wait as long as 12 hours outside Memphis hospitals to drop off patients, according to the Memphis Fire Fighters Association.
LOCAL 1784 WINS ANOTHER ARBITRATION CASE

(2020-12-23) Your union was recently informed that it won another arbitration case.  This case was filed on behalf of Driver Darriun McAdory, Engine 41.  Driver McAdory was suspended for 12 hours for an auto accident that occurred in June 2019.  Engine 41 was struck by a civilian vehicle while enroute to a call.

(2020-11-25) Your union was recently informed that it won an arbitration case filed on behalf of Lt. Tim Scott, Engine 26. Lt. Scott was suspended for 24 hours for an incident that occurred in September 2019.  A hearing was held in December 2019 on Lt.

Memphis Citizens Pass Historic Sales Tax Increase

Memphis citizens voted on October 3rd to pass a one half percent sales tax increase to fund retirement and health insurance benefits for firefighters and police officers.  This culminates a year and a half campaign by the Memphis Fire Fighters Association and the Memphis Police Association.
